FFASTFILL PLC - 16th September, 2003
FFastFill first with LME Select order routing system

FFastFill, the leading provider of application services for trading and risk management in electronic markets, is the first to offer an electronic order routing system to the London Metal Exchange's electronic trading platform, LME Select. The new system will allow clients of LME members to access LME Select electronically.

The LME is the world's premier non-ferrous metals market. It currently operates as a ring dealing (open outcry) and telephone market with Select as its electronic trading facility. Select is currently being re-engineered and will be enhanced later this year with a new matching and registration system built by Cinnober Financial technology.

Electronic order routing enables market users to access the LME directly. The benefits for clients include:

  • faster, more direct and more transparent pricing
  • lower execution costs
  • more control of entry/exit operations
FFastFill is delighted that one of its major customers, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) has already launched a service based on this new capability and expects that many other brokers will take up this facility over the coming months.

Nigel Hartnell, director of FFastFill, said "FFastFill sees this development as an important addition to its already wide range of exchange connectivity. FFastFill fully intends to expand its breadth of connectivity even further and will provide clients with connectivity to the LME's new Cinnober system as soon as it is available later this year."
